This month three of our Day Dream Kids got the opportunity to go to the Charlotte Touchdown Club Luncheon and see not one, but three Panthers players on the stage! The September 2nd luncheon featured Mike Tolbert, Kurt Coleman, and Trai Turner in a panel conversation and they did a great job of helping the attendees get excited for the fast-approaching Panthers kickoff! Day Dreamers Amery, Makylin, and Zane were treated to a delicious lunch (some opted to begin with dessert first!) and a fun experience with the players.
Day Dreamer Amery took the stage to help announce our raffle winner and present them with their prize, a signed Larry Fedora picture. She even got to share a little bit about her charity that she started, Amery’s Army. Amery raises money to buy stuffed animals to donate to local police stations and fire departments to give to children in crisis. She is truly a special girl who shows us that real-life superheroes do exist! The winner of our raffle was Tiye Young who is running for Ms. Veteran America 2016. She was truly inspired by Amery and DO3.
The Panthers took the stage later to answer some questions about the upcoming season and how they felt coming out of Superbowl 50. While they shared that they were disappointed and not quite satisfied with their performance, they are ready to come back even better this year. Kurt Coleman said of the upcoming season that he will “leave it all out there.” After speaking the Panthers hung around for a bit and our Day Dreamers were able to get a few pictures and autographs from them.
It was a fun afternoon enjoyed by all, especially for our Day Dreamers that got to skip school and start their weekend a little early, and we can’t wait for the Panthers to kick off their regular season. Special thanks to the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Touchdown Club for joining us in the huddle and giving our Dream Kids a special day!
