Garret is an 11-year-old from Sylva, NC. He lives with ADHD, a Sensory Processing Disorder, and Hypotonia. Due to these conditions, he also struggles with learning and fine motor skills. Simple tasks like putting on clothes and brushing his teeth can be challenging for him, but he works harder than anyone else to accomplish them. While it can be frustrating, he still keeps a very positive attitude.
Garret’s mom says that he is enthusiastic about life and loves being involved in his community! If someone needs help with a task or a project, he is the first to volunteer. He loves bowling, fishing, watching sports, playing basketball, and is very observant about his surroundings. If you’re outside with him, he’s always the first to notice a bird or other animal.
Being from Sylva, Garret is a BIG fan of nearby Western Carolina University. He loves cheering on the Catamounts and wants to experience a weekend as a VIP WCU basketball fan.
The Western Carolina University Collegiate Dream Team can’t wait to make Garret’s Dream come true!
