Ben's Dream

Meet Ben

Meet Ben, a confident 15-year-old who has a very clear picture of where he achieves to be in life. Ben lives with Autism, ADHD, and hearing impairment. His sweet personality and positive outlook are two of his “standout” character traits!

Ben’s stays busy with a full homeschool schedule, physical therapy and he even supports his mom with her dog boarding business. He is particularly fond of a sweet little Corkie! Ben doesn’t spend a lot of time outside the house, which can be difficult however, he finds other activities to fill his free time. Video games like Minecraft and Mario Brothers are a favorite and he even dabbles in computer programming which could possibly lead to a career in engineering – an aspiration of his!

When it comes to sports, Ben enjoys football and is a huge NASCAR fan! He is super impressed by pit crews and seeing them in action would be a bonus, but his ultimate sports dream is to meet Kyle Busch and to attend a race. He thinks Kyle seems kind, funny and that he is very good at his job. Ben’s day would be made to meet his sports hero and hear the rev of the engines alongside his fellow NASCAR fans!

Ben's Dream

Ben, who is just a few days shy of 16, loves all things NASCAR and Kyle Busch. Ben’s grandpa shared his love of racing with Ben early on, and it stuck! Ben is now a Kyle Busch super fan and loves watching races with his grandpa.

Ben’s Dream weekend kicked off Friday morning with an early birthday surprise at his home in Mooresville. From there, he was whisked away to Joe Gibbs Racing where he enjoyed a private tour! Ben, his mom, and his grandpa also attended the Joe Gibbs Racing Fan Fest at the speedway where they met Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., and Christopher Bell. The group then finished their night with a special dinner at the The Speedway Club.

On Saturday, Ben got a behind-the-scenes tour of the garage. Here he met Kyle and a number of Kyle’s team members. If you remember from our original post, Ben got hooked on NASCAR after being introduced to the sport by his grandpa. For them to be able to share these special moments together makes us teary-eyed!

After their VIP tour, Ben and his family headed to a suite where they watched the Drive For The Cure 250 in style. Ben even started signing autographs!

On Sunday, the group headed back to the pit for race day fun, including time with Kyle and Joe Gibbs. Think it was a coincidence that Kyle placed third while Ben was cheering him on?
