Meet Benny

Benny is an energetic and fearless 8-year-old who is bravely battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia. True to his spirit, Benny doesn’t let his diagnosis slow him down—he is always on the go and always dreaming big.

Benny loves all things that go fast—whether it’s cars, rides, or simply watching anything speed by, Benny is captivated by the thrill of it all. That’s why it’s extra exciting that he’ll be a VIP at the Roar of the Rockies F1 Boat Race, the perfect dream experience for a speed-lover like him!

When he’s not chasing speed, he’s cheering on his favorite team, the Denver Broncos, and holding out hope that they’ll soon make it back to the Super Bowl.

Benny is a kid with big dreams. He talks about one day becoming a professional boxer, and with his determination, there’s no doubt he’ll keep fighting for every goal he sets. He also has a softer side—he’s the best big brother, always looking out for his siblings with love and pride.

Whether he’s enjoying his favorite meal (a good steak) or dreaming of the next adventure, Benny inspires everyone around him with his resilience, courage, and zest for life. He refuses to just sit and watch life go by, and he reminds us all what it means to live life boldly.

Benny's Dream

We kicked off Benny’s adventure in style with a NoCo Party Bus, heading straight to The Marina in Windsor — and that’s where the magic started. Greeted by the adrenaline-fueled teams of Rinker Racing and Island Lake Marine, we dove right into the world of F1 Boat Racing.

🛥️ Sat in literally every boat we could find
🏁 Watched thrilling trial runs from the docks
🔧 Got an up-close look in the pits — engines being torn apart and rebuilt, teams buzzing with focus and energy
🌊 Even rode on a boat as it was lifted out of the water — wild!

Wrapped the day with classic backyard vibes:
🥩 Grilled up a perfect steak dinner
🎯 Played games and chilled under the sunset

On day two, Benny soaked up the action as Formula 1, Formula Lite, and Tri-Hull boats tore through the water, reaching speeds up to 160mph!

One of the biggest highlights? Benny was presented with a professional race helmet, signed by all the drivers—a true badge of honor. He even got to step into the spotlight and shout “Let’s go racing!” with the official announcer to kick off the day’s events.

After a sun-filled day, we wound down with pizza and a movie night, wrapping up another unforgettable day by the water.

Day three kicked off with a big home-cooked breakfast before heading back to the races for one last action-packed day! The day was all about adrenaline and fun—jet ski rides, boat rides (where we got to launch t-shirts to the crowd on shore!), and the perfect grand finale: presenting trophies to all the race winners.

A huge thank you to Formula 1 Powerboats, the Island Lake Marine Race Team (our amazing hosts!), and every driver who made Benny feel like one of the guys all weekend long. We’ve officially created a new race fan —what an incredible weekend by the water!
