Meet Brody

Brody is a fun-loving and joyful teen who loves to laugh, pull pranks, and keep everyone around him smiling. He’s known for his hilarious jokes, playful sense of humor, and the best hugs you’ll ever receive. Whether he’s trying to spook someone for fun or cracking a joke he made up himself, Brody brings light and energy to every room he enters. He’s incredibly friendly, never meets a stranger, and always wants to make others feel welcome and loved.

Brody lives with Down syndrome and ADHD, which bring challenges with cognition and learning. Things often take repetition and patience to stick, and he sometimes struggles with understanding safety and age-appropriate behavior. But, what stands out most is Brody’s determination, empathy, and his ability to surprise people with just how much he can do when given the chance.

He’s overcome early behavioral struggles, and with the right support, continues to grow, connect, and thrive. This past year, Brody had an amazing experience as a peer mentor at the elementary school his sister attends, helping out in the kindergarten classroom. He loved supporting the younger students and truly thrived in the role.

Brody’s biggest sports Dream is tied to his love for basketball. He plays every day at recess and would be thrilled to attend a Wisconsin Badgers basketball practice, spend time with the team, and of course, meet Bucky Badger—his favorite mascot! While he can be a little shy when the spotlight is on him, a little encouragement goes a long way in helping him jump in and have fun.

Brody is a beautiful reminder that every person has something special to give. He’s full of love, laughter, and potential—and just needs the opportunity to shine.

Brody's Dream

Brody’s Wisconsin adventure kicked off in the best way possible — with an unforgettable school sendoff at River Bluff Middle School! Classmates lined the halls and filled the gym while everyone cheered as Brody made his entrance to “Jump Around.” With GiGi’s Playhouse, Aring Equipment, and a special video message from University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team, the energy was electric. Brody even led a huddle with his entire class to close out the celebration!

Next stop: Aring Equipment, where Brody and his sister were treated to snacks, gifts, basketball games, and even rides in giant equipment — a total blast. From there, the fun continued at Rally House with a shopping spree, a welcome poster, and lots of cheers.

After checking into The Graduate Hotel, the family headed to Spare Time for bowling, arcade games, and even more surprises before winding down for the night.

Bundled up for a brisk 10-degree walk, Brody and family headed to the Kohl Center for an incredible behind-the-scenes experience. They toured the arena, locker rooms, athlete center, and even watched men’s basketball practice where Brody helped assist a play and threw an alley-oop for a dunk!

Lunch at Madison favorite, The Nitty Gritty was followed by game time — sitting just three rows from the court! Brody met Bucky, received team gifts, high-fived players in the tunnel, and collected autographs after watching the Badgers take home a big win.

The perfect ending? Ice cream and dinner back at the hotel.

The weekend wrapped up with a high-energy morning at Urban Air on Sunday morning, where Brody was greeted by a mascot and played everything from laser tag and trampolines to bumper cars and zip lining. After hibachi lunch at Niji Asian Cuisine, the family headed to the women’s basketball game, where the Badgers won in double overtime — an incredible finale!

With hugs, happy tears, and even a little dance from Brody, the family said goodbye to a weekend they’ll never forget.
