Meet Drew

At just 17 years old, Drew has already shown the heart of a true champion. A lifelong sports fanatic, he lives for all things Colorado athletics, especially his beloved CU Buffaloes. When he’s not cheering for the Buffs, Drew loves working out, watching sports, and spending time with his friends and family—the people and passions that keep his spirit strong.

Drew’s journey has not been easy. Alongside battling epilepsy, this year he faced an infection that quickly turned into orbital cellulitis, a life-threatening condition that put his vision—and even his sight—at risk. After multiple surgeries and weeks in the hospital on heavy antibiotics, Drew refused to give up. Through every setback, his hope of getting back to the sports and teams he loves is what pushed him forward.

Drew dreams of the day he gets to experience a CU game as a VIP—meeting legendary Coach Prime, quarterback Julian Lewis, and the entire Buffs football team. His resilience, courage, and unwavering optimism inspire everyone around him. Drew isn’t just a fan—he’s living proof that the power of hope, perseverance, and the unbreakable bond of family and community can help someone get through even the toughest of times.

Drew's Dream

The adventure kicked off with a huge surprise — the CU CDT team showed up at Drew’s home in a party bus to start the weekend in style. First stop: a shopping spree at Rally House, where Drew stocked up on all the CU Buffs gear imaginable. Decked out in black and gold, the crew headed to lunch at Boulder’s oldest and most famous spot, The Sink, before checking into the beautiful Limelight Hotel.

The excitement didn’t stop there — Drew enjoyed an exclusive CU athletic facilities tour, where he got to see the Buffs locker rooms, come face-to-face with the 2024 Heisman Trophy (and many other trophies)! After that, the crew experienced a front row view of an unforgettable Homecoming Pep Rally and a CU Women’s Volleyball game, where the Buffs upset Baylor in a thrilling match!

Day two brought some friendly competition with a few games of pool before heading to Folsom Field for the ultimate game-day experience. Drew got a front-row seat for the Buff Walk, then stepped onto the field for pregame festivities where he was able to watch warm-ups, meet coaches & players, and lastly, witnessed Ralphie the live mascot run up close! Although the Buffs came up short in the game, the day was made when Drew met his favorite player, Julian Lewis, and cheered his heart out for his team.
After a well-deserved night of relaxation at the hotel, Day 3 wrapped up the dream weekend with a few final surprises — special gifts and a fresh new pair of CU colored Nike Jordans!

From start to finish, this was a weekend filled with family, memories, and pure Buffs pride. Huge shoutout to our amazing CU CDT team for all their hard work and dedication in making this experience possible through their incredible fundraising efforts.
