Ethan's Dream

Meet Ethan

17-year-old Ethan Ford is a true sports enthusiast and a super bubbly guy. If he meets you and you’re wearing a team jersey, be prepared to get lost in an exciting conversation! In fact, you can often find him enjoying “sports talk” with his friends at Mount Pleasant High School. Those living with cerebral palsy face many challenges however, Ethan’s upbeat spirit is always present and he never stops living life to the fullest.

In his free time, Ethan enjoys watching ESPN, playing Madden, listening to Luke Combs, and watching college football. He also loves spending time with family and visiting his grandparents on the weekends.

Ethan’s favorite football team is the Georgia Bulldogs! He loves to watch them play and because his dream job is sports commenting, he’s also listening closely to the broadcast. You can’t have too many tips on calling a game! Ethan’s been chosen as a Dream Recipient by the Mount Pleasant Junior Dream Team. They’re excited to help him achieve his sports dream alongside his fellow Bulldog fans!

Ethan's Dream

Friday kicked off with a sendoff at Ethan’s house, where he was loved on by friends and family who were thrilled to send him on his way to Athens! On the way to UGA, the crew had the best time laughing and blasting Luke Combs, Ethan’s favorite artist, the whole way.

Upon arrival in Athens, the team parked by the stadium, which just happened to be open! Ethan was able to see where he would be sitting the following day and his excitement was palpable. Their next stop was the bookstore, where Ethan took home lots of new UGA swag, including a jersey repping his favorite player, Brock Bowers. The day ended with an incredible meal at The Place, where they went above and beyond for the entire group.
GAME DAY!
The group met up with Georgia Baseball coach, Scott Stricklin, who played a large part in making this Dream come true. Coach Stricklin presented Ethan with lots of swag, a signed baseball, and a bag. Thank you Coach!
From there, the crew headed to the stadium where they…
Went out on the field and walked into each endzone
Toured the Georgia Football locker room where Ethan got to check out Stetson Bennett and Brock Bowers’ lockers
 Tried on the “turnover” pads
 Toured Coach Smart’s office
 Held a game ball
Also, the team promised to get Ethan a game ball if Stetson threw a touchdown to Brock Bowers…which he did!
Next, Ethan was able to lead the Dawg Walk, which brought him so much joy. He led the cheerleaders and the team down the street into the stadium. Ethan was also able to meet Brock Bowers, his favorite player, and Coach Smart.
After, Ethan watched the team warmup from the sidelines and met the University of Georgia Cheerleaders. In true Ethan fashion, he loved every minute of his time with the ladies!
The cherry on top of this amazing trip was being able to watch his Dawgs continue an undefeated season with his PawPaw Perry and Uncle Lynn, Ethan’s two biggest cheerleaders.
That evening the group enjoyed an amazing dinner at the Last Resort Grill.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Dream come true, especially the Mount Pleasant High School Jr. Dream Team and UGA Baseball coach, Scott Stricklin!
