Meet Henry

Meet Henry, an outgoing, fun-loving 18-year-old who brings joy to everyone he meets. Born with Down syndrome, Henry is full of life—he loves music, dancing, sports, and being surrounded by friends. Whether he’s chatting nonstop or quietly taking everything in, Henry always leaves people smiling. He’s kind, warm, and has a heart that sees the good in everyone.

Henry faces challenges that make independence and communication difficult, but he never lets any challenge stop him. With support from his loved ones along with his steadfast determination, he works hard to overcome obstacles—always focused on being part of the group and doing the things he loves. His resilience and positive spirit shine through in everything he does.

Over the years, Henry has performed in school musicals, helped run the Spartan Sips café at his school, ushered at church, and worked supervised jobs in the community. He loves being involved, contributing, and connecting with others—and he does it all with enthusiasm and pride.

Henry’s Dream is to be part of the Alabama Football team. He dreams of riding the team bus, walking through the tunnel, suiting up in the locker room, and standing on the sidelines as their “hype coach”—getting the team pumped up before the big game. He’s also a huge fan of Big Al, Alabama’s mascot, and would be thrilled to meet him in person. For Henry, being on the field with the team he loves the most would be the ultimate celebration of everything he loves: sports, teamwork, connection, and joy.

Henry is the perfect example of resilience, love, and light. He changes lives just by being himself—and the world is truly a better place because he’s in it!

Henry's Dream

The Dream began with a huge surprise at Mountain Brook High School, where Henry was surrounded by teachers, classmates, his principal, and supporters as we announced that his Alabama Football VIP Dream Experience was starting right now.

With his backpack in hand, Henry stepped outside to find Dale from Accent Limo waiting with a Sprinter Van stocked with all his favorite snacks and drinks. The first stop was The Pants Store in Mountain Brook, where the staff gifted him a polo, pants, and hat to get him game-day ready.

Next, the group arrived at Homewood Suites in downtown Tuscaloosa—where Big Al himself was waiting to surprise Henry. As Big Al’s biggest fan, Henry was overwhelmed with joy. His hotel room was just as magical, decorated with Alabama gear, Bama-opoly, Diet Coke, sweet treats, and even a custom hot chocolate station. The Homewood Suites team truly made him feel like royalty.

After settling in, Henry visited Alumni Hall, where Bree, Shannon, and manager Ken greeted him warmly and treated him to a huge shopping spree. He left with two giant bags of Alabama swag and the biggest smile.

The day ended with dinner at the beloved Buffalo Phil’s, where Henry enjoyed his favorite wings and incredible service from his guy, Felix—a perfect close to an unforgettable first day.

Day two  kicked off at Rama Jamas for the “Breakfast of Champions,” followed by a stop at BamaStuff where Henry received a gifted Alabama t-shirt.

The Alabama CDT kept the excitement going with buttons, stickers, and pizza before the group headed to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Henry received special pre-game field access—perfect for photos, laughs, and memories shared with the students who helped create his dream.

After exploring campus and learning some Alabama history, Henry headed to Champions Walk, where he enjoyed VIP access to watch the Walk of Champions. Surrounded by more than 100 Alabama recruits, Henry cheered louder than anyone—the team’s ultimate hype man.

Then came the moment of a lifetime: Henry was recognized on the field during the first quarter as a Hometown Hero. As the announcer shared his story and Dream On 3 journey, the entire stadium erupted in applause. Henry soaked up every second with pride and pure joy.

For the rest of the night—and even back at the hotel—Henry was a celebrity. Fans who saw him on the Jumbotron stopped to congratulate him, and he loved every moment.

It was a weekend filled with smiles, laughter, and memories that captured exactly what a Dream Experience should be. A huge thank you to Alabama Athletics for making these game-day moments possible for Henry!
