Meet Jase

Meet Jase, a joyful and determined 6-year-old who loves all things Nebraska Huskers! Born with Down syndrome, Jase is full of heart—he lights up every room with his kindness, energy, and love for sports, acting, and his tight-knit family. Whether he’s playing with his brothers or cheering on his favorite sports teams, Jase lives fully and fearlessly.

Life hasn’t always been easy for Jase. Speech delays and low muscle tone have meant spending hours in therapy—physical, occupational, and speech—all so he can keep up with the world around him. But Jase never complains. He works hard, pushes through, and keeps showing up with a smile that says, “I’m not giving up.”

Sweet Jase has never met a stranger. He notices when someone is hurting and always tries to help. He’ll wave to someone new, hug a friend, or sit quietly next to someone who needs comfort. Jase doesn’t just want to be included—he wants everyone to feel seen and loved.

His heart is big, his joy is contagious, and his dream is simple…to be part of the Nebraska Huskers—cheering on the football team from the sidelines, watching the game with the players, doing gymnastics alongside the Huskers team, and being right there on the court with the basketball team. He wants to be included and feel the energy and excitement of being part of the team he loves most.

Jase is the epitome of a great teammate—loving, uplifting, and full of Husker pride!

Jase's Dream

Jase’s Dream Weekend kicked off in true red-carpet fashion! With THE Herbie Husker along for the ride, the UNL CDT surprised Jase in the middle of class…the reaction was priceless! Walking out of the classroom, Jase found that his entire school was lining the halls ready to cheer him on as he made his way out front to the limo. His school sent him off in style with a special celebration as he walked the red carpet into his limo ride — a moment full of cheers, smiles, and excitement for the unforgettable weekend ahead.

The first stop was the Bob Devaney Center, where Jase jumped right into the action! He got to shoot hoops, meet volleyball players, show off some gymnastics moves, and enjoy a fun pizza dinner to wrap up an amazing evening. To top it all off, Jase and his family enjoyed a shopping spree at Alumni Hall, who so graciously helped make the experience extra special with a shopping spree.

Saturday was Husker game day! The morning started at Cornhusker Kickoff with tons of games, laughter, and good fun before heading down to the field for an up-close look at the start of the game. Jase was all smiles as he cheered on his beloved Huskers to victory! The excitement continued into the night with bowling and a delicious Chick-fil-A dinner, generously donated to help celebrate the big day.

The weekend wrapped up with a cozy Sunday morning spent together enjoying donuts, bagels, and the best company. From start to finish, Jase’s Dream was truly a fairytale weekend — filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories.
