Meet Keynen, a 16-year-old with a smile that lights up every room, a sharp sense of humor that lifts up everyone around him, and a spirit that refuses to quit. Keynan has a passion for sports, a deep love for his family, and a determination that is unmatched.
Early in 2025, Keynen’s life changed forever after a tragic accident left him with a traumatic brain injury. The medical team had given the family 72 hours to say their goodbyes. But, Keynen refused to quit.
He not only surpassed the 72 hour mark, but was strong enough to undergo brain surgery, a craniotomy, a tracheostomy, and being placed on a ventilator.
Bit by bit, Keynen began to fight his way back. First came small sounds and movements, then words and conversations. His vision slowly returned. He pushed through every challenge in rehab, working tirelessly to stand, walk, and reclaim his life.
Keynen is more than a survivor, he’s a fighter, an athlete, and a true inspiration to everyone around him. Though outpatient therapy is still a necessary part of his daily routine, Keynen continues to dream big. One of those dreams? To attend a Golden State Warriors game and see his idol, Steph Curry, play in person!
