Meet Kirstin — sunshine in human form. Her joyful attitude and bright, radiant smile have always been a source of light for everyone around her. In school, she poured that energy into everything she did: leading clubs, captaining the cheer team, and dominating on the volleyball court. Her life was full, active, and vibrant — until a devastating car accident changed everything in an instant.
Kirstin was life-flighted to a children’s hospital in Macon, where she spent more than a month in a coma. Her parents braced for the worst, holding onto hope even as the future felt unbearably uncertain. But day by day, Kirstin showed the world exactly who she is: a fighter, a miracle in motion. After transferring to the Shepherd Center, her family finally got the moment they had prayed for — Kirstin opened her eyes and truly recognized them for the first time in over a month. It was the first flicker of their girl returning.
Kirstin is passionate about so many things, especially cheerleading. She’s a natural leader, a gifted choreographer, and a role model to the younger girls who look up to her. Even as she continues to navigate the challenges left by the accident, she remains a dedicated youth leader and has never lost her faith. Her team still holds a captain spot with her name on it, waiting for the day she returns.
Kirstin dreams of dancing and cheering alongside professional cheerleaders — a dream that feels perfectly fitting for someone whose smile could light up an arena. Standing center stage, doing what she loves, would be nothing short of a dream come true.
