Meet Nick

Meet Nick – a 16-year-old with an undeniable light, a deep love for Jesus, and a loyalty to his family that runs deep. Nick’s greatest passion is baseball. He’s been playing since he was 5-years-old and has been a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan for as long as he can remember.

This past summer, Nick’s life changed in an instant. While hanging out with friends at the pool and filming a fun TikTok video, he dove head first into the shallow end, breaking his neck and becoming paralyzed. What followed were three challenging months in the hospital, spent between the ICU and inpatient rehab. However, Nick met every challenge head-on, with incredible strength, unshakeable determination, and a sense of humor that never left him. An accident that could have shattered most spirits only brought Nick closer to his faith. His resilience, positivity, and perspective have left everyone around him in awe as he continues to shine with a wisdom and joy far beyond his years.

Though he can no longer play baseball, that hasn’t stopped Nick from showing up. He’s the loudest one in the stands cheering on his friends at their rec league games, and he never misses a Braves game on TV. Nick dreams of becoming a baseball coach and motivational speaker, using his story to inspire others.

His ultimate dream? To attend a Braves game in person and meet the players who’ve inspired him every step of the way.

Nick's Dream

Nick and Keynen became fast friends after meeting at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Rehabilitation Center. Both have faced challenges far beyond their years, yet they continue to inspire everyone around them with their positivity, determination, and joy.

Earlier this year, Keynen lived out his Golden State Warriors Dream through Dream On 3. Last week, he had the opportunity to help create a special moment for his friend when he surprised Nick with the news that it was finally his turn to experience his own Dream.

And what a Dream it was.

Nick’s Atlanta Braves Dream began in unforgettable fashion with a first pitch opportunity at a Gwinnett Stripers game. From the moment he arrived, he was treated like a true VIP.

The experience continued with club level seats and a first class welcome from Loews Atlanta Hotel. Nick arrived to find a beautifully decorated room filled with thoughtful surprises, including a Braves bomber jacket, his favorite snacks, and incredible views of the city.

The evening concluded with dinner at 5Church Midtown, where the hospitality matched the outstanding meal. The staff went above and beyond to make sure Nick felt celebrated, creating a memorable start to an incredible week.

What stood out most throughout the day was Nick himself. His humor, gratitude, and positive outlook left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Every interaction became a little brighter because Nick was part of it.

Day two was packed with even more unforgettable experiences.

The morning began with a surprise visit to Tecovas, where Nick designed a custom hat complete with his name branded on the back. After lunch at Yard House, the family headed to Baseballism, where General Manager Brad welcomed them like family.

A passionate Braves fan himself, Brad made sure Nick’s visit was one he would never forget, loading him and his family up with gear and creating an experience filled with personal touches.

Then came the moment Nick had been waiting for.

At Truist Park, Nick watched batting practice as his favorite team prepared to take the field. What followed was every baseball fan’s dream. He collected autographs, shared conversations with players, received batting gloves from Dom Smith, and even managed to pull Braves manager Walt Weiss into the fun.

By the end of the day, Nick summed it up perfectly.

“Core memories were made.”

Nick’s Dream became reality thanks to the incredible support of Lockton Companies, a longtime Dream On 3 partner.

For years, Lockton employees have supported our mission through annual fundraising efforts with the goal of fully sponsoring a Dream experience. At the end of 2025, they hosted a cornhole tournament where Nick joined the festivities and learned that his dream of experiencing the Atlanta Braves as a VIP would soon come true.

As part of his Dream experience, Nick received a CMPD Police escort to the Lockton office, where he was welcomed by employees who had spent months rallying behind him. The team showered him with gifts, encouragement, and genuine excitement as they celebrated the Dream they helped make possible.

To everyone at Lockton Companies, thank you for your generosity, partnership, and commitment to helping children like Nick create memories that will last a lifetime.

A special thank you to Gwinnett Stripers, Loews Atlanta Hotel, 5Church Midtown, Tecovas, Yard House, Baseballism, the Atlanta Braves organization, and every individual who helped make Nick’s Dream unforgettable.
