Nick's Dream

Nick’s Dream kicked off with the Pins for Kids event, hosted by our friends at NARI Charlotte—and what a sendoff it was! The bowling alley was packed with excitement as Nick thought he was just enjoying an afternoon with family. Instead, he found himself at the center of a Dream reveal like no other.

With the crowd chanting alongside him, Nick’s love for Charlotte FC was celebrated in the best way possible—with a surprise visit from Sir Minty and Charlotte FC’s newest player, Harry Toffolo. They both fully embraced Nick, even taking a soccer ball back to the team so every player could sign it just for him.

The surprises didn’t stop there—our friend Curtis from Elite Feet Customs drove in from Atlanta to present Nick with custom cleats that had the whole family in awe. The night ended with a Dream On 3 huddle and spirit tunnel send-off, before heading to a celebratory dinner at Beef ‘N Bottle and a special welcome at the Kimpton Hotel, where snacks, cookies, and joy-filled smiles awaited. It was a day full of unity, kindness, and community love—exactly what Dream On 3 is all about.

Day two was all about going behind the scenes with Charlotte FC, and it’s a day the Delgado family will never forget.

Nick signed a contract as a Super Fan for Life and even discovered his very own locker decked out with personalized gear—jersey, backpack, scarf, sunglasses, and more. He proudly wore every single item at once for a solid 20 minutes!

The team welcomed Nick like one of their own. Players and coaches took the time to connect with him, exchanging high fives and handshakes that meant the world. Head Coach Dean Smith shared heartfelt conversation with the family, even expressing interest in learning more about Dream On 3’s mission. Nick and his family then joined the team for lunch in the cafeteria, where Nicks’s favorite player, Kerwin Vargas topped off the moment by gifting Nick his cleats.

The afternoon brought creativity and laughter at Village Studio & Gallery, where the family got to create clay art together thanks to the kindness of owner, Ella. The day closed with a wonderful dinner at Burton’s Grill—delicious food, great service, and smiles all around.

Dreams reached their peak on day three with an unforgettable matchday experience.

The morning began with fun at the Museum of Illusions, followed by lunch at King of Fire, where Nick got the full “royal treatment.” From “Nick’s Royal Crew” signs to the chance to make his own pizza in the kitchen, the restaurant team went above and beyond to celebrate him.

After some rest, the family headed to Bank of America Stadium for a night they’ll never forget. Waiting for them was a suite filled with Charlotte FC gear, yummy food, and one more surprise—Nick’s teachers and classmates from Philips Academy! Their arrival brought tears, joy, and so much love.

Down on the field, Nick was honored as Atrium’s Honorary Captain. He proudly handed the game ball to the referee and led the player walk-out, cheered on by thousands of fans. The suite was buzzing with celebration as Sir Minty made another visit, gifting Nick a bag of goodies, including his very own collectible figure.

The night ended with the perfect touch: a Charlotte FC win.

Over three days, Nick’s Dream was filled with love, laughter, and community. From custom cleats to heartfelt connections, from pizza-making to leading his favorite team onto the field, every moment honored Nick’s joy and passion.
