Full of life, laughter, and energy, Paxton lights up every room he’s in. He loves video games, hanging out with his Pépère (grandpa), eating pancakes and burgers, and, most of all, playing baseball. Baseball is his passion, and there’s nothing he enjoys more than being on the field or talking about the game.
On March 3rd, 2025 Paxton’s world changed in an instant. After baseball practice, he was riding home with his Pepere and cousin when they were involved in a serious car accident. While his loved ones had minor injuries, Paxton was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital due to extensive bleeding in seven areas of his brain, multiple severe diffuse axonal injuries (DAIs), and fractures in his pelvis.
He spent days on a ventilator, heavily sedated as doctors closely monitored his brain pressure. After 18 days, Paxton was transferred to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to begin intensive inpatient rehab. His brain injury was diffuse—impacting many parts of his brain—and he is having to relearn everything: how to walk, chew, feed himself, write, and more. He’s currently in therapy for physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation, and will likely need ongoing support as he continues to grow.
Through it all, Paxton has shown incredible grit and resilience. With his mom and Pepere by his side every step of the way, he continues to fight with courage, strength, and his signature smile.
Paxton’s ultimate sports dream? To be a VIP at a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park with his Pépère and take in the magic of the iconic Green Monster, an unforgettable experience for a young boy who has overcome so much and continues to inspire everyone around him.
