Siena's Dream

Meet Siena

Meet Siena, a resilient 18-year-old from Snowmass Village, Colorado, who is the definition of grit and heart. A lifelong competitive hockey player, she was slated to attend the prestigious Northwood School in Lake Placid to pursue her dreams on the ice. Known for her fierce competitiveness, she’s also an all-around athlete— from wakeboarding and dirt biking to working on Ford trucks, she thrives in every challenge. In fact, she even holds her high school bench press record at 305 lbs!

In May on 2024, Siena’s life changed in an instant when she suffered a traumatic brain injury that was both devastating and life-threatening. She spent six weeks in a coma before enduring months of grueling physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Siena had to relearn everything—how to walk, talk, and complete even the most basic functions—before finally returning home.

Her recovery has been nothing short of remarkable, fueled by her determination and the heart of gold she brings to everything she does. Even through this setback, her sweet nature and positive energy continue to shine.

Today, Siena continues to be known for her resilience, love for 80’s and country music, and her big dreams. While she dreams of becoming an engineer one day, her ultimate sports Dream is to meet Cale Makar and skate with her hometown team, the Colorado Avalanche!

Siena's Dream

Siena’s Dream Day started in the most unforgettable way… with a surprise she never saw coming.

She thought she was heading to Craig Hospital for a routine appointment, but as she walked into the garden, she was met by more than 20 staff members who had each played a role in her journey. A full-circle moment filled with love, gratitude, and a community that has been behind her every step of the way.

From there, the celebration officially began.

First stop: lunch at Raising Cane’s, where Siena and her brother were in absolute heaven. Then it was off to Rally House, where the team welcomed her with personalized signs, a basket packed with Colorado Avalanche gear, her favorite snacks and drinks, and a shopping spree to top it all off.

Next up, a little friendly family competition at K1 Speed…and let’s just say, this crew does not take competition lightly.

The day wrapped with an incredible dinner at The Capital Grille, complete with full hearts, full plates, and plenty of laughter. The perfect ending to a day Siena will never forget, before catching some zzz’s at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center.

Day two kicked off with breakfast at Whole Nectar, where Siena fueled up with one of her favorites, an açaí bowl, before heading to the arena for a moment she had been dreaming about.

Walking into the home of the Colorado Avalanche, Siena was greeted with a custom welcome sign that quickly turned into her autograph board for the day. She watched morning skate right against the glass, soaking in every second.

Then came the surprises.

A gift bag filled with even more Avalanche gear.

A stick once used by Cale Makar.

A locker inside the locker room with her name on it.

And most meaningful of all, time spent with the players themselves. Siena shared her story, listened, learned, and connected in a way that went far beyond the game.

After an unforgettable morning, the fun continued with mini golf and lunch at Holey Moley Golf Club, followed by an afternoon of high-energy competition at Beat The Bomb.

The night ended exactly how you’d hope… incredible seats, an electric atmosphere, and a Colorado Avalanche win.

Siena’s joy, humility, and gratitude were the heartbeat of this entire experience. From start to finish, this Dream was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together to create something truly unforgettable.
