Meet Sloane

Sloane is a spirited 10-year-old with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s famous for her full-body laugh—the kind that knocks her off her feet when the giggles get going. A true foodie, she can never resist a good steak, a bowl of queso, or ice cream. Sloane loves musical theater (especially Hamilton, which she knows by heart), adores babies, crafts, and reading, and she’s bilingual in Spanish with a quick wit. And one thing is for certain—she’ll be the first to tell you she is not a fan of the University of Oklahoma!

Sloane’s journey has been anything but easy. Born 10 weeks early, she spent her first weeks in the NICU before being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) caused by brain damage from early complications. Her CP mainly affects the right side of her body, making balance, coordination, and muscle control difficult. She’s undergone years of physical therapy, participated in hippotherapy, and had two major surgeries to improve her mobility. Currently, she wears ankle-foot orthoses every day and sleeps in a knee immobilizer to keep her muscles from tightening.

Despite these challenges, Sloane refuses to let her CP define her. She’s learning piano, dances with her school’s Baile Folklorico team, and creates and sells jewelry to raise money for other kids with CP. She tackles life with perseverance, grit, and a contagious joy that inspires everyone around her.

Sloane’s dream is to experience Texas Longhorn Football like never before. She wants to meet the players—especially the biggest guys on the team—meet Coach Sark, and maybe even share a pregame meal if steak or queso is on the menu. Her perfect day would include arriving in a limo, watching the game from a cool box, going to a night game to see the drone show, standing on the field for “Texas Fight,” meeting Bevo and the cheerleaders, and getting photos with the cannon and drum.

Sloane is a fighter, a dreamer, and a proud Longhorn fan whose strength, spirit, and determination make her an inspiration to all!

Sloane's Dream

Sloane’s Dream Experience began with a festive Halloween-themed sendoff at her home, complete with a big Dream Day sign, pizza from her favorite spot, and fresh Insomnia Cookies. The full UT Collegiate Dream Team joined family, friends, and neighbors — including Rusty the golden retriever — to celebrate. Sloane and her brother, Hayes, received custom UT jerseys with their names and numbers on the back, and the group spent the afternoon enjoying pizza, cookies, and photos before the family headed out for trick-or-treating. Meanwhile, with the help of Moxy Austin managers Brandon and John, the Dream Team decorated the family’s hotel room in bright UT orange, complete with gifts, swag, and thoughtful touches to kick off the weekend in style.

Saturday started before sunrise as a limo arrived to surprise Sloane at her home, lights flashing and her favorite music playing. The first stop was the SEC Nation live broadcast, where Sloane appeared on set for a live segment and even landed an on-air interview. The excitement continued at a tailgate hosted by JP from ROMCO/Volvo of Austin, who treated the group to breakfast tacos, donuts, and plenty of laughs. From there, the family headed to the Texas Club thanks to Lucchese Boots, enjoying incredible seats, top-tier hospitality, and a special halftime field experience complete with photos and a meet-and-greet with Bevo. Stadium staff went above and beyond to ensure the family had a seamless experience, and after a thrilling Longhorns win, they returned to the hotel to find Sloane’s fully decorated room and surprise gifts waiting. The evening wrapped up with dinner and bowling with the Collegiate Dream Team — a night full of laughter, new friendships, and even a little magic courtesy of CDT member David.

Sunday began with early morning games of Pac-Man in the lobby before the family took a walk around campus for Tower photos. The Moxy team once again delivered, hosting a backyard breakfast with their in-house restaurant, Zombie Taco, along with oversized Jenga, ping-pong, and plenty of smiles. As everyone shared favorite moments from the weekend, Sloane expressed that she’d never forget her Dream Experience — and didn’t want it to end. After heartfelt hugs and goodbyes, the Rainey family headed home, closing out an unforgettable Dream Weekend filled with joy, connection, and Longhorn pride.
