Thomas is a fun-loving 10-year-old with a huge heart, an infectious laugh, and a love for all things sports, music, and reading. He lives with both Down syndrome and autism, which means he experiences the world a little differently than many kids his age—but once you get to know him, you’ll quickly see he is more alike than different. Thomas thrives on routine, has an incredible memory, and loves being silly. He enjoys reading Elephant and Piggie books, shooting hoops on his Pop-A-Shot (where he can rack up a perfect 999 points!), cracking eggs in the kitchen to “help Mom,” and belting out Ohio State fight songs.
Thomas has faced more challenges in his 10 years than most. He is a proud “heart warrior,” having undergone open heart surgery at age three. He has worked through years of therapies—physical, occupational, and speech—just to master skills like walking and safely eating table foods. He also lives with ADHD and Celiac disease, requiring a strict gluten-free diet and constant medical management. He’s endured countless procedures, hospital visits, and therapies, all while keeping a resilient spirit with unstoppable determination.
What makes Thomas truly special is his grit. Every milestone he reaches takes persistence, patience, and hard work—skills many of us take for granted. He never gives up, and no matter the setback, he comes back with a smile and a sparkle in his eye. Thomas is living proof that joy, kindness, and resilience can carry you through even the toughest challenges.
Thomas is a die-hard Buckeye fan, and his dream is to be treated like a VIP for all Ohio State sports. He wants to experience the excitement of Buckeye traditions—seeing the flag raised, cheering with the crowd, joining the band, meeting Brutus, and even stepping onto the court or field. For a boy who works harder than anyone to overcome life’s obstacles, being celebrated by the team he loves would be the ultimate dream come true!
