Meet Bailey! The most caring, selfless, and authentic teenage girl who loves Jesus and CrossFit! While most teenagers would shy away from telling their story, Bailey makes it her mission to share her struggles with others so that her life can be a testimony of God’s grace.
Bailey grew up playing competitive soccer. She loved the sport and trained hard to be the best she could be. In her early teenage years, she became obsessed with working out and soon stopped eating. She thought she could only reach her maximum potential by overworking her body and restricting herself. This led to visits with nutritionists, doctors, and therapists. In May of 2023, Bailey was admitted to the hospital and immediately had heart surgery scheduled for the following morning. During that surgery, doctors found that Bailey had superior mesenteric artery syndrome caused by anorexia nervosa.
Post diagnosis, the last year of Bailey’s life has been emotionally, mentally, and physically draining. She has spent time retraining her brain through therapy and with the help of her nutritional coaches. She is back in school and everyone can tell that the sparkle in her eyes is back! CrossFit is now such a large part of Bailey’s story. She sees these women as inspirations in her journey, and now she wants to be strong like those she sees competing in the games.
We are so excited to help celebrate this amazing young woman and all that she has and will continue to accomplish. She has inspired us all and we can’t wait to see her CrossFit Dream come true!
