Meet Beckett

Meet Beckett! This young man has been described by doctors as having a “bulldog mentality about life” and he truly lives up to that description.

In December of 2022, Beckett had pneumonia and went into septic shock. Because of this, Beckett had a below knee amputation that has forever changed his life. This extremely active young man is taking this new challenge in stride and is working extremely hard to get back to competing!

Beckett plays a lot of sports, but has a deep passion for Snocross. He races his own snowmobile and has even started to ride it with his prosthetic!

Beckett’s Dream is to attend a professional Snocross event and watch the top athletes compete in the sport he loves – and maybe try racing on the track himself!

Beckett's Dream

Day one of Beckett’s Dream kicked off with an epic surprise at his house including his grandparents. After celebrating, the crew filled the limo with tons of suitcases full of warm gear to fight the below zero temperatures heading our way. As we arrived at the Marquette Hotel, hotel, the crew was surprised with fully upgraded rooms, special amenities, and the hotel even helped us pull off another surprise for Beckett…his very own Dream On 3 Snocross helmet!

Day two of Beckett’s Dream included a behind the scenes tour of the U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings! The kindest tour guide lead us through the luxury clubs, locker rooms, and press conference rooms. Beckett, his brother, and their Dad even got to kick field goals and toss around the football on the field! After the epic tour at the stadium, the crew enjoyed lunch at Matt’s Bar and Grill before heading to the track. After riding around on the groomer, the crew met Chad Kyllo, owner of Kyllo Racing. Chad and his team gifted the boys their very own Kyllo Racing jacket, who is sponsored by Arctic Cat Snow, Beckett’s favorite Snocross brand! After chatting for awhile and sharing tons of laughs, Beckett met driver, Jacob Yurk, who was so kind and helped give a tour of their trailer and discussed the engineering and mechanics of snowmobiles.

After having such a blast at the track and meeting some of the best people, we headed to dinner at Hells Kitchen, where Dream kid alumni, Luke, joined us for a bite to eat! Beckett and Luke shared their stories and enjoyed spending time together for such a special occasion.

Day three of Beckett’s Snocross Dream was UNREAL.

The day kicked off with heading to the Mall of America for an epic round of Nerf wars at the largest indoor battlefield, Tactical Urban Combat. The crew chased each other through the battlefield, laughing the entire time! After the crazy Nerf war finished, it was time to head over to Canterbury Park to begin Snocross festivities. Beckett was immediately greeted by Doug Rust from FXR Racing, who brought him the ultimate swag bag including a custom race jacket, hoodies, goggles, and gear for the whole family! Doug and the entire FXR Racing team went above and beyond for Beckett and his family.

Immediately after meeting Doug, Beckett got to meet Mike Shultz, Paralympic Snowboarder and founder of performance prosthetic company, BioDapt. Mike even brought Beckett his own special prosthetic gear! Beckett and Mike share a lot in common, so the two of them enjoyed sharing their stories and spending time together. Mike took Beckett to do a live Flo Racing interview on stage where they both shared their stories on TV. As the interview ended, Mike offered to take Beckett snowmobile racing on the track. Beckett was absolutely shocked by this opportunity and jumped right on to take a lap with Mike, thanks to Kyllo Racing.

After that epic surprise, Beckett spent some more time with Mike where they did another interview, took photos on the podium, and Mike even gifted his book to Beckett and his family. The night ended with watching fireworks on the track and sharing many laughs together while talking about what an incredible day we had.

Day four of Beckett’s Dream started in the -5 degree temperatures, by bundling up and watching the early races before heading to the autograph session. At the autograph booth, Beckett got his helmet signed by every professional Snocross racer!

After the meet and greet, Kym from Woodies Racing invited the crew into their trailer to hangout and gifted Beckett & his brother even more gear. Woodies Racing had been so incredible all weekend and helped us feel so welcome! We watched a few more races before heading back to the hotel. The family talked about their favorite parts of the weekend and we shared many laughs while reminiscing on all of the activities we took part of. Once at the hotel, Beckett & his brother laid out all of the gear they were so graciously gifted, and it was mountains of goodies!

The Snocross community is full of the most welcoming people out there. Words cannot express how generous and inclusive this industry is, everyone truly cared about making this the best experience for Beckett & his family, and they fully exceeded. Despite the temperatures, it was hard to feel cold, when surrounded by so much love and warmth.
