Billie's Dream

Every second of our weekend with Billie was filled with so much joy!

Billie’s Dream Experience kicked off with a surprise pep rally at Wheatmore High School, where the Junior Dream Team revealed to Billie in front of the entire school that his Dream started NOW! After draining a three to end the pep rally, the JDT surprised Billie again by getting into the limo with him to go to lunch together before hitting the road for Chapel Hill.

Upon arrival in Chapel Hill, Billie headed to Johnny T-Shirts who is always so amazing with our UNC Dreamers. There was only one RJ Davis jersey left in the store, which just happened to be Billie’s size! RJ is Billie’s absolute favorite player and he was so excited by this find. Afterwards, we headed to The Graduate who went above and beyond for us. Billie loved playing on their basketball court and soaking in all of the awesomeness of the Michael Jordan themed room before heading to Chapel Hill favorite, Carolina Brewery.

Day two started with a special tour of the Carolina Basketball Museum before being invited to watch practice. Before walking on to the floor of the Dean Dome, Billie switched into his custom Jordan’s from our friends at Shoedio. While lacing up, Coach Davis came over and sat next to Billie! Billie. Was. Stunned. Coach Davis also invited Billie out on to the court to shoot around, which was a Dream come true in itself. Afterwards, Billie spent time hyping up the team during practice before meeting his idol, RJ Davis. RJ and Billie spent their time together chatting, shooting around, and even making up their own handshake. Before he left, the team gifted Billie an autographed basketball, which quickly became Billie’s most prized possession.

Later that afternoon, Billie was surprised by members of the Wheatmore JDT who wanted to join him for the game! The Tar Heels came away with the win since their good luck charm was in the building!
