Brandon's Dream

Brandon’s Dream was truly Bananas! When Brandon told us that his Dream was to hang with The Savannah Bananas, we knew it was going to be a fun one, but the level of love and compassion shown by everyone in the organization was truly unmatched.

The day started with a limo ride to Brandon’s house, followed by bowling at Punch Bowl Social along with an early lunch, and video games. After, we headed to Truist Park where the yellow carpet was rolled out for us. The Bananas went above and beyond to make Brandon feel like a star for the entire day!

Brandon immediately became the team’s hype man, energizing the players and rehearsing dances with them. Then, a huge surprise—when the Bananas scored their first run, Brandon learned that he would be the star at home plate! After rehearsals, Brandon also joined the opposing Party Animals, who welcomed him with open arms. He played hacky sack, joined their dance rehearsals, and found himself torn about which team to cheer for.

After rehearsals, we were escorted to the players’ lounge for snacks and a visit to the locker rooms, where Brandon’s name was added to one of the lockers. Later, he joined the VIB portion of the day, hanging out with the players on the field. Afterward, the owner, Jesse, decided to do a huge march with the team from the dugout to the stage outside, where thousands of fans were waiting. Brandon marched with them, and the players made sure he was taken care of the entire way.

Back in the dugout, we all knew the plan—when the Bananas scored, Brandon was the star. And sure enough, when they did, KJ ran with him to home plate, where the stadium went wild as Brandon led the home plate dance! The players followed his lead, and it was absolutely epic.

The Bananas’ mission is to bring joy, and they nailed it in every way. We watched the game, saw the Bananas win, and then said our goodbyes before a good night of rest at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel, where Brandon continued to be treated like royalty.
