Meet Breck

Meet Breck! This dreamer is 14 years young and lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. If you are lucky enough to experience one of his famous bear hugs, you know how freely Breck share his love for others. This young man makes a friend with all who cross his path, and he cherishes quality time with those around him.

Breck’s bravery matches his sunny disposition as he lives with Autism. Breck overcomes the hurdles that come with living with Autism so that he can step outside of his comfort zone and continue connecting with his peers. His favorite way to do that is through the world of sports!

Breck adores all sports, especially CSU Basketball and he dreams of being able to spend time with the team and meet real life basketball players. The Colorado State University Collegiate Dream Team is thrilled to have Breck as their 2023-24 Dream Recipient! They are working hard to make sure his dream comes true.

Breck's Dream

The Colorado State University Dream Team created an incredible experience for Dream Kid, Breck!

Breck’s entire middle school joined in his surprise send off by lining the halls and cheering as he made his way to the limo out front! From here, the team headed over to the Colorado State Football facility for a special behind the scenes tour. Breck loved seeing some of the players in the weight room and running out on to the field with the CSU Dream Team! After, we headed to the campus bookstore for a shopping spree and to meet up with Breck’s brother, Trey, who is a freshman at CSU. They are the best of friends so we loved seeing them spending time together!

After the crew enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by ice cream at Walrus Ice Cream, a Fort Collins staple, they played Uno together, which is Breck’s absolute favorite game.

Upon checking in to The Elizabeth Hotel their team went above and beyond by decorating Breck’s suite! Breck and his family were so surprised. After, we headed over to the Colorado State Men’s Basketball facility to watch practice. Here, Breck was able to shoot around with the team and show off his stellar half-court shot.

Next, we headed to Colorado State Volleyball practice where Breck was made an honorary assistant coach. The team gifted Breck with a CSU goodie bag and Breck was so excited!

The day ended with dinner at Rally5 Crafted Eats & Bar with the CSU CDT where more heated matches of Uno took place!

Day two started off with breakfast and Uno followed by laser tag, bowling, arcade games, and laughs at Main Event. After, Breck headed to the CSU basketball game walkthrough followed by Old Town Putt for mini golf and… more Uno!

Upon arrival at the game, we saw posters of Breck everywhere! Not only did his referral partner, Respite Care, Inc., come to the game to help cheer him on, so did a number of friends, family, and teachers! Breck was recognized in game and the crowd went wild. He was also able to high-five the team as they ran out onto the court, which he loved.

Thank you to our referral partner, Respite Care, Inc., to our national CDT sponsor, Volvo Construction Equipment North America and to the CSU Dream Team for making this experience for Breck possible!
