Brian's Dream

Meet Brian

Brian is a light that loves adventure and feels the need for speed! While he may not verbally communicate, Brian’s expressions speak for themselves. His huge smile and massive giggles fill the room when videos are shown of him skiing and weaving through the trees with his dad!

Brian was born with hydrocephalus which resulted in spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and significant developmental delays. He requires tube feeds and is dependent on a wheelchair. Regardless of his circumstances, he is a fun-loving teenager who loves movies and being outside, but his favorite activity is skiing! All winter long he goes with his father up to Copper Mountain and other local resorts to practice and compete in Special Olympics races.

We can’t wait to see Brian conquer a new mountain of his Dreams!

Brian's Dream

Brian’s skiing Dream was out of this world! With thanks to the National Ability Center, Brian was able to ski in Park City, Utah, which is full of mountains he hadn’t conquered yet!

After the warmest welcome from The Grand America Hotel, the first full day in Utah included a day of bowling, lunch, games, and FUN! Bonwood Bowling was welcoming and ADA Accessible, which made for an incredible afternoon. After lunch, the crew headed to see a movie followed by time in the pool – Brian’s second favorite activity after skiing. Dinner at the hotel was the perfect way to wind down before the following day.

Brian and his dad are skiing masters, but our friends at the National Ability Center welcomed them for lessons to help them hone their skills. Brian was smiling ear to ear the entire time he was on the mountain, which was incredible to witness. The day ended with time in the pool again followed by a delicious dinner. We repeated the same schedule the next day with Brian still smiling non-stop!

Dream. Come. True.

Thank you to Matthew Didisheim with the National Ability Center for the photos and for helping to make Brian’s Dream come true!
