When 14-year-old Carson first tried his hand at surfing, he would have never believed it would soon become his favorite activity in the world. Carson lives with Autism and deals with sensory sensitivity. Having to wear a life jacket was so uncomfortable for him that he wanted to get out of the water. Luckily, an experienced lifeguard took Carson under his wing and was able to help him surf safely without the jacket. From that day forward, the ocean became Carson‘s happy place!
Carson lives in Waxhaw, NC and when he isn’t catching the waves, he remains a super active kid. He loves swimming in the ocean or pool, playing all sports, listening to music, and playing videogames. He is curious about the world around him and soaks up all of his experiences. Carson isn’t afraid of a challenge and doesn’t allow his differences to keep him down. He even has dreams of being an astronaut and traveling to the moon one day.
Carson‘s ultimate sports dream is, in his words, “to surf big waves”. He has surfed close to home on the East Coast, and ultimately would love to experience the West Coast waves alongside a professional surfer!
