Meet David

Meet David, a kind-hearted 11-year-old from Salisbury, NC. Following in his grandpa and dad’s footsteps, Dream Kid David is a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan and according to their family, the 2023 MLB season couldn’t come soon enough!

At the end of last year, David was thrown a curveball after he came down with the flu and wasn’t able to bounce back to his typical self. During the final week of December, David received a scan in the Emergency Room that revealed a mass on his chest. As a result, he was immediately transferred to Levine Children’s Hospital. At the hospital, the biopsy confirmed the tumor was cancerous and David was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

David is taking his fight one day at a time and is hopeful he will be able to return to playing baseball with his team and older brother very soon. David’s sports dream is to attend an Atlanta Braves game and meet the players!

David's Dream

David’s Dream is to attend a Braves game, and day one of David’s Atlanta Braves Dream was a homerun! The Dream Team surprised David with a knock on his door to let him know that his Dream started NOW! Shout out to Sign Dreamers of Rowan for the awesome yard art.

Our friends at Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta welcomed David and his family with open arms and not only hooked him up with specialized goodies, they gave him the best view possible…one that looked right into the stadium!

After a delicious and super fun dinner at National Anthem Atlanta, the family enjoyed some time at the hotel pool before calling it a night.

The next morning David and his family enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the room to gear up for a fun morning at Puttshack! After playing two competitive rounds filled with laughs and smiles, the crew headed to the Braves Team Store for a shopping spree.

After gearing up, our friends with the Braves brought everyone into the stadium for batting practice, which David and his family enjoyed watching on field! Here, they met third baseman Austin Riley who chatted with the family and signed autographs.

Once in their seats, the family was surprised with a visit from Blooper, the mascot, and David was gifted a team autographed ball! David’s grin was ear to ear.

Even though the Braves didn’t pull off a win last night, David had the time of his life cheering on his beloved Braves all nine innings.
