DJ & Marshall's Dream

Meet DJ & Marshall

Surviving countless traumas as children, Marshall and DJ are enjoying their lives with amazingly supportive adoptive parents, unbreakable brotherly love, and of course puppy love from Marshall’s new seeing-eye dog, Bronco!

Marshall, 10, is the oldest of the 2 brothers and is always watching, reading, or listening to sports and when he’s not doing that, he’s studying sports statistics! When he was born, Marshall was unable to breathe for 10 minutes. The lack of oxygen caused him to have a stroke which in turn impacted his brain development and made him legally blind. Because of this, Marshall loves to see the world through simplified numbers and straightforward facts – the perfect combo for a sports fan! A diehard listener to Chicago Cubs announcer, Pat Hughes, Marshall can easily recognize his voice when tuning in!

Younger brother DJ, is 9 years old and has the sweetest personality even after overcoming the darkest of pasts. Due to complications at birth, DJ’s left arm is deformed, and after suffering trauma at a young age, DJ lives with Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, a Traumatic Brain Injury, and other conditions. He pushes through adversity daily to gain strength and confidence to spend time with his peers. Through sports, DJ has been able to connect with the world around him. An avid baseball fan, DJ loves the Baltimore Orioles! An out-of-the-box thinker, DJ’s Dream is to play baseball with the Orioles (for an exact quote – with dinosaurs on his team to win)!

A Dream weekend to never forget, we can’t wait to see Marshall and DJ live out their dreams at the Orioles vs Cubs series in Baltimore!

DJ & Marshall's Dream

Upon arrival in Baltimore, DJ and Marshall were greeted by the amazing staff at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Baltimore. The hotel staff went above and beyond by preparing a special welcome including some amazing gifts for the boys, their parents, and even pup, Bronco!

For dinner, the dream team headed to Italian Disco where beautiful Cubs and Orioles decorations had been set up around the restaurant just for our Dreamers. They even created “The DJ,” a special pizza with oranges on it, because DJ loves oranges on his pizza!

After a relaxing morning at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Baltimore pool on day two, the boys and their wonderful parents headed over to the The Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum. Here, they were given an exclusive tour by the Executive Director, who pulled many special artifacts for the boys to touch with white gloves, including the Lombardi trophy, a Super Bowl ring, and lots of incredible Maryland sports history items!

Then, they headed over to Camden Yards, where they were given custom jerseys and goodie bags thanks to the amazing Orioles Community team. The family headed over to tour Eutaw Street where everyone was excited by seeing all of the homerun markers. After, they were taken down to batting practice for both teams, where they met all their favorite players, including Cody Bellinger! The boys were then interviewed by the team media groups and were beaming the entire time.

The radio calls are Marshall’s favorite part of the game, so after batting practice, the boys were taken to the broadcast booth! They met both the Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles Radio Announcers with MASN and Marquee Sports Network, and were even able to call some home runs. Going, going, gone!

Before gametime, the dream team headed to their seats where Dream Leader, Noelle, a Baltimore native and Orioles superfan, taught everyone how to keep score. The dream ended with the boys getting a spotlight on the Jumbotron, which was their favorite part of the night!

Day three started out with a trip to the National Aquarium, where the boys were taken into a VIP Training Enrichment Session. Here, they got to see dolphins and even throw ice cubes to them! The day continued with a visit to Nick’s Fish House – Baltimore , where the amazing staff gifted DJ & Marshall a tshirt and some goodies! Noelle, Dream Leader and Baltimore native, even taught the boys how to crack crabs.

After lunch, the boys headed back to the hotel and enjoyed some rest at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Baltimore pool, before heading out to grab some yummy dessert at Zoes Just Dezzerts. This small business was created to employ those who live with autism and/or are neurodivergent.

The day ended at the final game of the Chicago Cubs vs Baltimore Orioles series, where the Chicago Cubs swept. This incredible family will never forget the amazing memories they made on this dream!
