Meet Javier

Meet Javier! This kind-hearted and energetic 14-year-old is full of life and passion. Living with autism and ADHD, Javier has faced his share of challenges, but he’s never let anything hold him back from pursuing the things he loves, especially sports.

Javier has a big heart and a natural desire to help others, which shines through in everything he does. He’s a Disney enthusiast, captivated by the magic and adventure of his favorite movies. When he’s not immersed in the world of Disney, you’ll find him enjoying some of his favorite activities—playing Roblox, diving into a good book, or shooting baskets. Museums are another of Javier’s favorite places to explore, where he satisfies his curiosity and learns about the world around him. And when it comes to swimming, he’s always ready to make a splash!

Javier’s ultimate sports dream is to spend time with real college athletes and experience the thrill of shooting basketballs with the team. The thought of stepping onto the court with college players fills him with excitement, and we’re all eager to make that dream a reality for him. The team can’t wait to see Javier’s face light up when his dream finally comes true thanks to the Loyola University Collegiate Dream Team!

Javier's Dream

Day one of Javier’s Dream Experience kicked off with the sweetest welcome from Topgolf! Javi and his family loved spending time with the Loyola Collegiate Dream Team before resting up for a fun day two. The next day started with a trip to the American Visionary Museum, a special request from Javi, who loves art. Everyone enjoyed seeing some really beautiful sculptures before heading to Choptank for lunch. The day wrapped up at the beautiful National Aquarium followed by a cozy movie and pizza night with the Loyola CDT.

On Sunday, the CDT hosted breakfast at Miss Shirley’s Roland Park, where everyone enjoyed the most delicious meal. After pancakes, the crew headed to the Loyola Women’s Basketball pre-game shoot around, where Javi was given courtside access to watch the team practice, as well as a jersey gifted and signed by the team!

Afterwards, Javi had the opportunity to make buttons before tip off, which he loved. After, he joined the cheer tunnel where he was able to cheer for the players as they ran onto the court! Right before the game started, Javier was called onto the court for a special moment of recognition and a feature on the Jumbotron. The crowd was chanting for him, and it was such a special moment!

Before we said goodbyes, Javi received a signed basketball from the Loyola Men’s Basketball team.
