Meet Joshua! This kind-hearted and courageous 14-year-old has a bigger-than-life personality. A few years ago, Joshua made the bold decision to switch to online school in order to pursue his dream of becoming a professional Motocross racer. He traveled the country winning a number of titles. However, all that came to an abrupt and unexpected halt in the spring of 2024.
During a warm-up lap, Joshua hit a jump that quickly went wrong. Due to the impact of the land, his scapula and multiple ribs were broken. In the days to follow, Joshua was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Although most teenagers would have felt defeated, Joshua pressed on with unmatched perseverance. He spent many weeks in the hospital unrecognizable in his speech and movement. Before rehab, he wasn’t able to walk, but with patience and dedication, he’s regained mobility with the assistance of his walker and continues to focus on building his physical and mental strength.
Although Joshua won’t ever be able to ride his dirt bike again, he’s found much comfort in fishing and his new dream is to catch a fifteen-pound bass with YouTuber, Jon B. He spends much of his free time by the pond with his stepdad and he can’t wait to start participating in fishing tournaments. We can’t wait to see what his dream will encourage him to do next!
