Kolton is a charming, funny, and sweet young man who LOVES all things sports! Despite any obstacles, Kolton faces his challenges head-on and with a huge smile on his face!
In utero, Kolton suffered a stroke as well as seizures. To save his life, the doctors needed to perform a hemispherectomy – a surgical procedure that removes or disconnects half of the brain. The surgery successfully stopped his seizures, and he began the journey of living his fullest life with only half of his brain. Because of the stroke and surgery, Kolton’s left side is much weaker than his right side and he cannot use his left hand at all. This makes everyday activities and tasks difficult to accomplish. However, nothing slows Kolton down!
Kolton loves all sports, but especially basketball since he’s able to play with one hand – he’s even known to shoot 3’s one-handed in his Special Olympics Colorado games!
Kolton’s favorite team is the Denver Nuggets, but his ultimate sports dream is to be a professional referee! Kolton is a big rule follower, and loves encouraging (and reminding) others to do the same.
We are so excited to help celebrate this amazing young man and all that he continued to accomplish while bringing his Nuggets Dream to life!
