Meet Monique, a high school senior living in Charlotte, NC, who loves all things basketball – and especially a shiny trophy! She enjoys being on a team and spending that special time on the court with her friends.
Monique’s guardian, Lisa, was her teacher in the fifth grade and knew she wanted to provide a safe and loving environment for this dreamer. She told us that she fell in love with Monique’s heart and personality, and we can certainly see why! This teenager is so excited about life and her joy is contagious. Monique gets giddy about the little things and loves to spend time truly connecting with others.
Living with an intellectual disability has never stopped her fun-loving personality from shining bright. Monique is caring and always makes everyone around her smile. If she is not on the basketball court, she can be found making friendship bracelets or playing with her dog.
It would be a dream come true for Monique to be a VIP at the ACC Women’s Basketball tournament!
