Meet Penelope John aka Penny John! This dynamite 6-year-old dreamer from Knightdale, N.C. may be the biggest basketball fan you’ve ever met. In addition to loving shooting hoops and watching basketball on TV, Penny John loves to bake cupcakes, swim, and hang out with her siblings. Her fiery spirit and contagious joy makes everyone in her presence smile. While she loves watching all basketball, she especially loves to cheer on her North Carolina State University Wolfpack!
She loves both the Wolfpack Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams and followed this past season very closely. She also loves to watch the NCSU Cheer and Dance teams… and through observing them, she has picked up some of her own moves!
Although Down syndrome has posed some challenges for Penny John, she has never let that stop her from living life to the fullest. Penny John is a source of encouragement to those around her, and a shining example of what it means to be a part of a team as she is always cheering on others.
Penny John’s sports Dream is to attend a NCSU Basketball game and cheer on her favorite collegiate team! The Collegiate Dream Team at NC State is working hard to make her NCSU dream come true! Go Pack!
