Just a few months ago, Will White’s world was turned completely upside down. On May 11th, just five days after his 12th Birthday, he was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, a disease in the heart muscle. He immediately had to have a major heart surgery, followed by several weeks in the hospital. On July 30th, he became eligible for a heart transplant and was finally able to go home. Amazingly, just hours later his parents received a phone call from the hospital saying they had a heart for him! His heart transplant was successful and he is recovering well.
His Dream: Will’s Dream was to go to a race, meet Dale Jr., and ride around the track in his race car! Will’s Dream Experience began this weekend at the Bank of America 500. On October 10th we surprised Will at his school where we told him he would be getting a VIP experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway! It was a fun-filled race weekend.
With the help of the Dale Jr. Foundation, we were able to make Will’s dream of riding in Dale Jr’s car around the track come true!
