Zasheed, the eldest of the two, lives with a condition known as Sickle Cell Anemia. He is a high school student and avid sports fan, especially of baseball and the New York Yankees. He is currently receiving blood transfusions every three weeks at Novant’s Hemby Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. He has battled this diagnosis since birth, but his infectious spirit has not been tainted.
Zebulon, the younger of the two, lives with Cerebral Palsy. Zebulon endures daily difficulties and requires assistance from his loving mother. Due to being wheelchair-bound and completely dependent upon his mother’s care, he is unable to perform normal activities especially those involving sports. Both of these young boys’ lives are affected daily, but their love of life has not and will not be defeated.
