Dream On 3 Gala Honored 2023 Dream Recipients, Raised Over $1M and Crowned Queen City Large, Mid-Size, and Small Businesses of the Year

Monday February 5, 2024 (Charlotte, NC) – Over 1,000 guests gathered on Saturday, January 27, at the Charlotte Convention Center for Dream On 3’s (DO3) Dream Gala presented by LeeBoy. The black-tie event celebrated the tremendous impact the organization, which is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, has made across the country, along with celebrating the 2023 Dream Recipients, all living with life-altering conditions, who were selected to live out their sports dreams. The highly anticipated annual event was emceed by Beth Troutman and Bo Thompson from “Good Morning BT”, along with Hornets in-game hosts, Derrick “FlyTy” Jacobs and Jacinda Jacobs.

In coordination with the Dream Gala, the organization awards three Charlotte-area businesses with the coveted title of “Queen City Business of the Year” (QCBOY). Local companies, representing Large, Mid-Size, and Small Business categories, had been competing for the crown for over six months by fundraising and raising awareness of the mission of Dream On 3. LeeBoy, The Beck Group and Smile Cabarrus took home awards for Large, Mid-Size and Small Business Categories and were honored at the event for their tremendous efforts.  

Other finalists included Clancy & Theys Construction Company, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Legion Brewing, NuBlueService Group and INSURE Insurance.

Since launching the QCBOY competition eight years ago, Dream On 3 has raised over $6M to help grow their programs across the country and the organization and raised $1,077,788 at this year’s event alone.

 Dream On 3 has granted over 217 sports themed dreams to individuals across the country living with life-altering conditions and has impacted countless others through their Day Dreams, Jr. Dream Team, Collegiate Dream Team, DreamBox, and Alumni programs.
