Anderson's Dream

Meet Anderson

Meet Anderson, a charismatic 18-year-old from Beaufort, SC! As a rising high school senior, playing sports was all Anderson knew. Football, basketball, soccer…you name it, he played it!

Unfortunately, when senior year began and Anderson’s teammates were suiting up to play under the Friday night lights, Anderson wasn’t by their side. Over the summer, this adventurous teenager was involved in an unexpected and traumatic accident. Anderson fell through the roof of a home being built and suffered head and spinal cord injuries. Sadly, Anderson’s accident left him paralyzed.

During this difficult season of life, Anderson has been a rock for his family. His strength and dream-big personality helped him persevere through months of rehab, giving him the opportunity to get back to school in person.

Despite his accident, Anderson’s love of the adrenaline of a big game has not faded. This avid sports fan’s ultimate Dream would be to attend the biggest game in college football – the NCAA Championship!

Anderson's Dream

Anderson’s College Football Playoff Championship Dream was out of this world! A huge thank you to the College Football Playoff team as well as Dream sponsors Volvo Construction Equipment and their retailer, Ascendum Machinery for helping to make Anderson’s Dream come true! Also, thank you to the Shepherd Center for referring Anderson to DO3.

Anderson’s Dream kicked off with a limo ride from his home in Beaufort, SC to the DO3 HQ in Charlotte, NC. Here, Anderson was greeted by a number of folks who were so excited to send him on his way to LA. After being showered with love and lots of goodies, the family enjoyed dinner in Uptown before heading to the airport in the morning. Once in LA, the Jones family attended the official CFP media day, where they were able to meet a number of players including Georgia Football QB, Stetson Bennett and TCU QB, Max Duggan, as well as ESPN personalities!

In addition to the game, Anderson loved attending the Jonas Brothers and Pitbull concert. His parents even said that this was the first time they had seen him relax since the accident. Mom and dad also said that it was the first time they’ve seen their daughter, Anderson’s sister, enjoy herself since Anderson’s accident. We were so thrilled to give the Jones family a respite from the tragedy they have been working to overcome.

While in LA, the family also toured the Dodgers stadium and attended a number of VIP events leading up to the championship game!
