Dream On 3 is partnering with the folks at HIS Radio, in Charlotte, to present Dusty with a very special Christmas present/wish of his own. To give you some insight on what’s been going on, please read the article below…
WYFF News 4 at Noon aired a story Tuesday about Dusty Hardee, a student at Dorman High School who also attends the Charles Lea Center. This center serves more than 1,400 people from newborns to senior citizens, with disabilities and chronic medical conditions in Spartanburg County.
The center is where Dusty got the idea to give rather than receive. He is using his money to buy gifts for others, taking angels off the Charles Lea Center tree. The Angel Tree sponsors men, women, and children in the community who might not otherwise receive Christmas gifts.
All Dusty asked for in return was to get letters. The request for mail made via the Facebook page, Cards for Dusty, has gotten a huge response, with bins full of cards being delivered daily.
“He never gets mail. He’s 20. We all hate getting mail because of the bills. Every time I go to the mailbox, he wants mail and none of it has his name on it. I try to give him mine but he knows that his name’s not Patti, it’s Dusty. That’s what he said, he just wanted mail,” Dusty’s mom, Patti Lindsey, said.”
Dusty’s kindness has gone viral, and many people want to give back to him this Christmas! When interviewed, Dusty was asked what his dream gift would be, and he responded that he would love to see a South Carolina Gamecocks game in person! That’s where we come in… In partnership with HIS Radio and the Duck Commander Independence Bowl, Dusty received a magical “Dream” of his own!
