JJ's Dream

JJ’s Dream started off with an epic send off at East Rutherford Middle School! The East Rutherford High School football coach, coach Russ, bussed the football players and cheerleaders down to the school to surprise JJ. As JJ is their biggest fan and #1 ball boy, the high schoolers were all thrilled to be on site to support JJ in the same way that he has always supported them. After telling JJ that his dream was coming true in a classroom full of excited peers, he made his way through the school to a limo waiting outside as students and staff lined the hallways cheering him on.

Upon arrival in Seattle, the family checked into The Lotte Hotel, who had so kindly decorated JJ’s room and had dinner waiting for them.

The next day was a jam packed day in the Emerald City. We started with a private tour of Lumen field with JJ’s newest friends, Connie and Marcus. Connie was able to take us behind the scenes, but JJ’s favorite part was getting to be on field, watching the time clock, and seeing the lights. Even Connie and Marcus said, “We’re so thankful to JJ for slowing us down.” He has such a way of making everyone around him realize what actually matters!

After the tour, JJ was able to have a shopping spree in the team store. He chose another DK Metcalf jersey, two Seahawks hats, and a stuffed Seahawks mascot, Blitz. The Blitz stuffy came everywhere with us and quickly became part of our pack!

After the shopping spree, the crew headed to Pike Place Market for lunch. Being the first time in Seattle for JJ and his family, this was such a hit! After some afternoon downtime, the group enjoyed a delicious dinner at La Fontana.

Sunday was the day JJ had been waiting for. So much so, that he was ready to go at 6:30am! The first stop of the day was the Ticketmaster Tailgate in the Lumen Event Center. JJ spent all two hours of the event playing the newest college football video game with his sister. Here he also go to meet Blitz’s buddy, Boom!

After, JJ and his family were able to spend time on the field before kickoff. JJ loved taking in all of the sights and sounds of an NFL game from the field. He also loved being able to meet Blitz and get a photo.

Before kickoff, the family headed to their seats to watch JJ’s beloved Seahawks defeat the Cardinals 16-6, making them first in their conference. JJ was in his element and couldn’t stop smiling the entire time.

After the game the crew enjoyed one last family dinner together reminiscing on all of their favorite moments from the weekend.
