Meet Liam! This 13-year-old dreamer, originally from Cleveland, Ohio is a diehard Browns fan. Without fail, you can find him on the couch every Sunday cheering on his favorite team in a Browns jersey and drinking out of his favorite Cleveland mug.
Before Liam was born, doctors diagnosed him with spina bifida myelomeningocele – the most serious type of spina bifida. Liam had his first surgery the day he was born and has since had a large surgery each year including brain, spine, and leg surgery. Thankfully, Liam has been free of surgeries for the last two years and is excited to start his 8th grade year.
Liam’s diagnosis has never slowed him down. When he moved to Charlotte in 2018, Liam joined the Rollin’ Hornets – a wheelchair basketball league where he quickly found his rhythm. Now as a team vet, he is seen as a leader and he looks forward to seeing his teammates every week at practice. He travels all over the east coast for games and has made great friends through the program. He has even recently joined the Rollin’ Rackets, a wheelchair tennis player program!
Liam looks up to Brown’s player Myles Garrett. He admires Myles’ determination and the way he carries himself. If given the chance to meet him, Liam said he would “talk his ear off.” Liam’s ultimate sports dream would be to attend a Browns home game to watch his idol play. He would also love to see how the team prepares for a game!
