Meet Mikayla, a goal-oriented 21-year-old who loves Nebraska football! She enjoys the electric atmosphere of Memorial Stadium and how the players unite together to become an unstoppable team.
Mikayla is an athlete and lover of all sports who has continued to face obstacles that test her mental and physical strength. Mikayla didn’t say her first word until she was six-years-old, which was followed by an autism and apraxia diagnosis. With her diagnoses, she has limited memory retention and a fear of the unknown, making it difficult for Mikayla to relate to her peers.
Despite her diagnoses, Mikayla loves sports and wants to try every single one that she can! That love of sports has helped her overcome and push through the obstacles in her life, reminding her that she is capable of anything she sets her mind to.
Mikayla is now attending University of Nebraska – Lincoln through the Trailblazers program, where she is working towards getting her Associates Degree in Coaching.
Mikayla’s dream is to attend a Nebraska football game as a VIP Husker and cheer on the athletes she admires!
