Paul's Dream

Paul lives with autism and at 20-years-old, his focus is on becoming independent and eventually living on his own. He recently accomplished a major milestone and successfully obtained his driver’s license! Dream Recipient Paul is a recent high school graduate and is currently taking some online college courses this summer to further his education.

His family works hard to keep him in a social environment so he can experience the same opportunities as his peers. Paul has continued to develop social skills by attending sporting events and one of his favorite things to do is shooting hoops at his house. His favorite sports include track and field, basketball and football.

Shane’s Rib Shack in Gastonia, NC, a franchise owned by Craig Willers, is sponsoring Paul’s Dream. Craig is the father of 2016 Dream Kid Jalen. This is a Dream on 3 first! Jalen and Paul share common interests specifically in basketball and it is amazing to see one Dream Kid sharing this experience with another. We are amazed by the power of community and kids helping kids.

Paul’s Dream is to “meet Coach Clifford of the Charlotte Hornets.” He has grown up going to Hornets’ games since he was a baby and he has always loved the behind the scene work of sports. It was an honor to tell Paul that his dream was coming true and that the next time he would see us, it was go time!
