Meet Sadie

Meet Sadie, a hardworking, motivated, and outgoing 18-year-old from Belmont, NC. Sadie grew up in a sports-minded family, and has always been a huge college football fan. Next year, she is attending the University of Alabama and playing on the Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team. She hopes to land a job in sports one day!

When Sadie was only three and a half years old her spinal cord was attacked by Transverse Myelitis. This paralyzed her from the waist down and has required a number of surgeries, including painful leg lengthening surgeries.

Despite her challenges, Sadie does not let it hold her back. She plays adaptive basketball on National Championship teams, as well as Adaptive Track & Field teams. She is an American Paralympic athlete with over 20 medals in track and field, and she hopes to play for Team USA, on the Wheelchair Basketball team. Sadie also excels in the classroom, earning National Academic Recognition for the last 7 years.

Sadie’s Dream is to attend the College Football Championship with her sports loving family!

Sadie's Dream

With the help of her family, Sadie was surprised and told that her Dream of attending the College Football Playoffs was coming true! She was gifted a sweet pair of Jordans and other goodies to be geared up over the weekend!

Sadie & Ole had an incredible first day once arriving in Houston. The two got to meet a few players including JJ McCarthy and even Kirk Herbstreit’s famous dog, Ben! They explored the football festivities going on this weekend and ended the evening with a delicious dinner.

Day two started at media day! Sadie & Ole met coaches, ESPN staff, and even a few players. After the media day festivities, Sadie & her family set off to grab lunch at Blancos Tacos and Tequila where the manager, Jake, kindly donated the crews full meal! After they were fueled up on chips and salsa, they headed over to Houston Galleria to take some cool flicks at TFTI Experience. Both crews met back up to attend Playoff Fan Central enjoying tons of different activities. As Playoff Fan Central ended, we headed to Saltgrass for a delicious steak dinner. The families both enjoyed spending time together as one.
The team ended the night at AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! Sadie & Ole had VIP access to the Jack Harlow, Latto, 2Chainz, and Paul Russell concerts! They jammed out all night to the fun performances before heading back to the hotel to rest up for the next day.
The morning started with a behind the scenes tour of the NRG Park stadium! Sadie & Ole had the opportunity to be on the field where the game between the University of Michigan and University of Washington will take place. After a few family photos on the turf, the crew headed out for a quick lunch!
After lunch, it was time for Playoff Fan Centralt. Sadie & Ole were surprised with gift packages organized by the CFBP team! Sadie received a gift package from University of Alabama where she will be attending to play on the Alabama Adapted basketball team! Ole received a package from the Atlanta Falcons, who is his favorite NFL team.
Following their special surprises, it was time to get snacking at the Taste of the Championship. Chefs from various gourmet restaurants came to showcase their most popular menu items, which Sadie & Ole devoured! After tasting some of the incredible food, the crew headed to the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live Concerts. Sadie & Ole rocked out with VIP access while watching Jon Pardi, Jake Owen, and Megan Moroney perform. After rocking a couple cowboy hats, dance moves, and jamming out, it was time to head back to the hotel to rest up for game day.
Game day started with an epic VIP tailgate party at the Allstate Championship Tailgate right outside of the stadium! The crew enjoyed lots of food and treats to get fueled up for the big game. After taking a few quick photos and getting into the game day spirit, it was time to head into the stadium.
Sadie & Ole both were rooting for Michigan to pull off a big win. As the game kicked-off, the atmosphere of the stadium was pure magic! Both families cheered “Go-Blue” all four quarters and enjoyed experiencing the big game together. The evening ended with an ultimate Michigan win, which made the entire weekend even more special.
After a good nights rest, it was time to wrap up the incredible weekend with Sadie & Ole. Although, the fun didn’t end just yet. As the crew headed to breakfast before departing home, Ole ran into the Player of The Game, Blake Corum!
