Meet Tyler! This friendly, outgoing 18-year-old from Florida lives with challenges that impact him on a daily, and even hourly basis.
Tyler lives with glycogen storage disease as well as cerebral palsy. His life is completely controlled by his diet as he needs to eat protein every 3-4 hours or he will risk the onset of a seizure. This is compounded by his cerebral palsy, which amplifies his muscle weakness.
Despite the challenges, Tyler is a fighter through and through! He even won bronze in the power lifting state championship last year! He also loves to put his all into playing sports with the Special Olympics.
Even with difficult circumstances, one of Tyler’s greatest strengths is how generous he is. Tyler is always concerned about others and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need.
Living in Gainesville, Tyler absolutely loves to cheer on the Florida Gators. Tyler’s ultimate dream would be to go inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and catch a football from the University of Florida quarterback!
