FACING A JOURNEY THEY’VE HELPED OTHERS NAVIGATE

Hannah Lindsey’s Story of Hope

For 13 years, Brandon and Elizabeth Lindsey have dedicated their lives to bringing joy and hope to young people with life-altering conditions through the mission of Dream On 3. While they’ve walked alongside countless families with stories of resilience and courage, they never imagined their own daughter would become part of that narrative.

On August 3, 2024, what began as a celebratory evening—a going-away party for Hannah Lindsey’s friend heading to college—turned into what Brandon describes as “the worst day of my life.” A car accident left Hannah with a severe spinal injury resulting in paraplegia, essentially changing their family’s world overnight.

“To walk in and see your child in that condition… there is nothing that can prepare you for that,” Brandon recalls of the 5.5-hour surgery that followed. The journey ahead would test their faith, resilience, and understanding of their own mission in ways they never anticipated.

By God’s grace, their connections through Dream On 3 proved invaluable. Elizabeth reached out to their referral partner at Shepherd Center, setting in motion a rapid response that would get Hannah the specialized care she needed within a week—a timeline Elizabeth describes as “insane.

The early days were marked by intense physical and emotional challenges. Hannah remembers, “I was really in pain and just not in a good place mentally.” Yet, a breakthrough moment came during therapy when she learned to get into bed independently. “From there, I think I just realized, like, I can do this,” Hannah shares. “I can still do all the things that I want to do.”

What became clear from this trial was not just Hannah’s physical recovery, but a spiritual and emotional transformation that touched everyone around her. Brandon witnessed his daughter become “this magnet inside Shepherd Center,” drawing others to her with love and kindness. The experience has deepened the Lindseys’ understanding of their mission with Dream On 3 in profound ways.

Looking back, Brandon reflects on the “list of blessings” and God’s clear involvement in their journey. What was once a calling to serve others has become deeply personal—a testament to how God prepared them through Dream On 3 for their own family’s challenge. Their story exemplifies the organization’s core belief that hope and determination can transform life’s most difficult moments into opportunities for growth and inspiration.

Elizabeth summarizes their experience with gratitude: “God had put people in our midst to be with us on this journey, and they haven’t let us do it alone.” Their family’s story now stands as a powerful reminder of Dream On 3’s mission—not just as founders, but as parents who are facing the very journey they help others navigate.

This new chapter in Dream On 3’s story reinforces their commitment to supporting young people facing life-altering conditions, now enriched by their firsthand understanding of the journey. Through Hannah’s resilience and their family’s unwavering faith, the Lindsey’s continue to show us that with a strong team, determination, and hope, dreams can persevere through any challenge.
